This summer is sure to bring us some amazing and creative weddings. With the pandemic coming to end and normality returning, we expect our weddings to be crazy events! Here are some of the 2021 summer wedding trends that we believe will be popular this summer!
The color scheme is very important for your wedding. Choosing these colors can really make or break your event. They help determine your décor, bridesmaids’ dresses, groomsmen ties, and all accent colors for your big day! You definitely don’t want to pair awful colors togethers and have your scheme turn out too blah or too loud. For 2021, light and bright colors are in! Dusty blue, lilac, and papaya orange are some of the more popular colors we have seen. Bright and bold 90’s theme color schemes are in as well. Many couples are pairing bright yellows, matcha greens, vibrant blues, and bold reds together to create a vintage circus color scheme. But our most favorite combined colors, here at The Meadow Barn, are neutral earth colors, such as tans, light greens, blush, or navy.
This specific trend seems to never go out of style! DIYing your décor will not only save you money, but can also create many memories with those who help you! Websites such as Canva or Shutterfly can help you create affordable but classic save the dates and initiations. Michaels and Hobby Lobby have amazing, life-like selections of flowers and greenery, while dollar stores have cheap items that can be turned into stunning centerpieces. DIYing is all about what you can imagine and create! Don’t worry about the small mistakes either. We promise no one will notice!
RSVP’s are vital to your ceremony and reception. They give you the definitive count of all your guests attending and how much food and alcohol you’ll need to order. With that being said, RSVP’s are becoming quite expensive, especially with the ever increasing cost of snail mail. Instead of including pre-postage RSVP’s, add an extra line on your invitation directing your guests to your website. Wedding websites have become extremely versatile when it comes to online RSVP’s. Most allow you to create your own page, with your own wording, inclusions, exclusions, etc. These websites also are great because they give an instant, up-to-date count of who is attending and who is not. Plus, these RSVP’s will never get lost in the mail! It’s a win-win for everyone!
Hosted beverages have been a very popular trend this season. Many couples are choosing to host kegs and wine or a favorite cocktail! Maybe alcohol is not your thing… Consider hosting non-alcoholic beverages such as soda or juice or even a fun virgin mocktail. At The Meadow Barn by Country Orchards, we offer the fabulous “Infusion Beverage Station” add-on. You will get to choose three of your favorite infused lemonade, tea’s, or waters from a predetermined list. This beverage station is refilled all night long so your guests will never be thirsty!

Single Serve Desserts
The world was forever changed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. One of the big concerns was germs and hygiene. Couples found a great way to avoid germs when it came to serving dessert! The single serve dessert option has become very popular! Some couples are choosing cupcakes instead of a full cake, while others forego the cake all together. Donut bars, mini bundt cakes, and cookie bars have become overwhelmingly popular. We have even seen individual macaroons being served at each place setting as to avoid germs! Our couples sure have gotten quite creative with this pandemic!
Casual Lounge Furniture
It seems as if many of the 2021 summer trends are linked directly to the pandemic… and this one is no different. After a full year of working from couches and lazy boy’s (us included), we can see why lounge furniture is trending. Many couples have chosen our sweetheart seating to lounge in during their reception! They are comfy but so classic and adorable! Don’t worry, we have some great, comfortable seating at The Veranda located on our patio. Your guests will be able to get comfy right along with you!
